Artist Statement
The Cage is the suffocation of childhood and innocence under the pillars of the collapsed curtains. All the world is a stage, and lives are innately plays carried out by its conductor - life. Suppression of innocence also signifies its end under societal pressure. Fairy tale morphed and forced out to embrace reality out of that theatre we built ourselves up to believe in.
While in my second artwork Doors; life is about embracing changes and metamorphosis. The gateways to development of self open when one finally has the strength to abandon their old selves to step through that door. Lifeless figures remained unanswered queries, yet the perceived, on-going sense of struggle lingered.
