Jawbreaker was modeled after the manhole covers around Hanoi. The name "Jawbreaker" depicts certain characteristics of the typography similar to those of the Gobstopper candy: solid, hefty, amusing, palpable, playful, and clean on the outside, encasing something very lovely on the inside.
