Artist Statement
Preserving Optimism through Art: My Journey to Self-Discovery My name means "happy-go-lucky," a trait my parents hoped would inspire me to live life to the fullest. Recently, I've been afraid of losing this quality. As a solution, I've turned to my art to protect my inner-child and optimism.
I view my art journey as a therapeutic process that I find most comfortable when using materials that evoke a sense of gentleness, such as pastel colors, watercolors, and colored pencils. My inspiration comes from the things closest to me, including my past self, family, and favorite songs. When I face creative blocks, I let my hair down and take the time to reflect and seek positive energy from my loved ones. Leaving home to explore and satisfy my curiosity about the world has taught me to be a resilient child.
In the realm of modern art, I've had the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media, from traditional to digital. This has inspired me to create art that blends historical and contemporary values. My ultimate goal as a creative practitioner is to spread positivity and encourage my audience to find peace within their souls. The sky is the limit, and I will never stop learning.
