Artist Statement

My latest artwork, inspired by Frida Kahlo's Me and My Parrots, portrays Mona Lisa with a twist. The eyes and ears are made with paper, liquid glue and water, creating a 3D effect that seemingly pops out of the wall. The piece depicts a person covered with a cloth, surrounded by watchful eyes and ears, symbolizing my anxiety and fear of being judged by others.

In today's society, people have set unrealistic standards, making it easier for others to judge a person based on their behavior, appearance or communication style. Even if one does not seek it, being evaluated is terrifying. The only way to avoid judgement is by hiding under a cover where no one can make assumptions about you.
