"Bloom" visualizes a journey of identity rebirth, of embracing a new you, via the prism of the natural life cycle. For so long, identity and creative struggles gloom all over my sense of self. Seasons were meant to transition from winter to spring, yet I was frozen in time. I came to the realization that in order to be reborn, parts of me have to die. There were people and memories I let go of, shedding what no longer attached like leaves in winter. Death isn’t always the end of the road, it opened me to new beginning with petals unfolding limitless possibilities.
The painting showcases a girl emerging from the abyss through a framed portal. She’s surrounded by rabbits, butterflies and blooming flowers in a heavenly scenery. Every of the symbols represent life, even the girl’s hair flowing like a spring. The imagery of butterflies references my past artworks and is a prominent aspect of the rebirth concept due to its natural transformation. Their number- 4 is the number of death and the angel number 112 of new opportunities, signifying how death plays an important role in life. Where the girl rises from is “Bloom” ‘ s parallel painting titled “Wither”.
Questioning identity and finding one’s place in the world is an inherent humane trait, and so far, the path came with great challenges but profound understanding of my own psyche. By diving deeper into the impact of culture on myself, its incorporation in my work will play a bigger role going forward. As a creative, I know experimenting would be the utmost essential goal for me in the near future. By pushing the boundaries of traditional techniques and embracing innovative approaches, I hope to redefine my artistic language and communicate my ideas effectively.
