Description
One of the Artworks in my art collective "Nghieng" is “covetousness”, which addresses the need to make money. People tend to focus on it and sometimes forget about other facets of life, such as fun, family, and friends, health, etc. The eight components in the wheel of life are represented by the rounded table, yet people only compete to get to the money on the table. To highlight how a need for money is represented, “Covetousness” shows an image of the dinner table. People are craving, competing for that "dish" and can not get out of it like being chained. The concept of "covetousness" helps viewers reflect on their own lives by bringing attention to the imbalanced life and highlighting other facets in the wheel of life. Therefore, with a hope of improving the quality of life, "Covetousness" conveys the message of considering all the aspects in the wheel in order to find out what truly brings happiness and a fullest life.
